NEWSFLASH: Dennis Quaid played with dolls in his 20′s?!?!?!

hawk2.jpgAnd what does that have to do with Droppin I hear you say? Well for those of you who don’t know Dennis Quaid has signed on to play General Hawk in the upcoming GI Joe movie. Thats not news, what is news is that he said in an interview that GI Joe takes him back to his childhood. Ummm Dennis, baby, whether you look/act it or not you are 54. That means you were a child back in the 50′s and 60′s. If we ignore the fact that the “Real American Hero” GI Characters that this movie is based on came out in the 80′s (making Mr. Quaid 30-something) and look at the “kung fu grip” era that came out in the 70′s he would still have been in his 20′s.
Care for some ketchup with that phony foot in your mouth Mr. Quaid?

For other tidbits of the actors talking like they know something about the characters they are portraying click the link below. I so want to like this movie but I’m scared.

Snake Eyes

Ready for the first pic of Ray Park as Snake Eyes in the upcoming GI Joe movie?

I’ll reserve comments until we get to see the movie in action.  There is too much fandom from my GI Joe loving youth to make a snap judgement at this point (why is the Arashikage logo on his outfit?).

Saved By The Bell: DANCE OFF!!!

250px-savedbythebell3.jpgOkay so first Slater, the most unhip guy on TV gets picked to host Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew (side note, can anyone tell me what Randy Jackson has to do with this show at all or with dancing for that matter?  Shouldn’t it be Paula Abdul be presenting a show about dancing?).  Now Jessie has been picked to host the new bravo reality dance competition Step it Up and Dance!  You know because she danced in the epic Jessie’s Song Episode, did the funky hula chicken in Saved By the Bell Hawaiian Style and well, I assume there was dancing in Showgirls but I’ve fortunately never seen it.

Whats next?  Lisa getting picked to host an MTV’s Project Runway knockoff, Screech getting picked to host the next season of Last Comic Standing (or more appropriately Beauty and the Geek!) or Kelly hosting a reality show to find the next cheerleader/volleyball player/swim team/waitress/lifeguard/model/prom queen/whatever other million things she did on that show.  Heck we can kill two birds with one stone, lets just get Zack Attack back together and have them be the band for RockStar: Zack Attack!

Can we just get it over with and get to the inevitable Saved By the Bell reunion special TV movie?  I know they all act like they want to get on with their lives but they all have no problem sticking around on my TV screen so it might as well be for something I enjoy.  Its not like Belding and Screech have anything better to do right?

Flight Of The Conchords News!

conchords_cd_cover.jpgGot a couple of new bits of Conchords news I found today while surfing the net.  First off is the complete track listing from the upcoming album:

“Foux du Fafa”
“Inner City Pressure”
“Hiphopopotamus vs. Rhymenoceros”
“Think About It”
“Ladies of the World”
“Mutha’uckas”
“The Prince of Parties”
“Leggy Blonde”
“Robots”
“Boom”
“A Kiss Is Not a Contract”
“The Most Beautiful Girl (in the Room)”
“Business Time”
“Bowie”
“Au Revoir”

Sadly missing is the classic “Pencils in the Wind” (Search on the roll with your fingernail!!!!) and it would also be nice to see a couple of the Non-HBO songs make the cut (Jenny and the Bus Driver Song both deserve more publicity then they get). Here’s also hoping the reworked version of “Hiphopopotamus vs. Rhymenoceros” is much better then the take from the HBO show.

Second of all, sad news (thanks for the segway Tony Danza), the second season of the show on HBO has apparently been pushed back until early 2009 thanks to the now cliche writers strike, which has been overplayed as the excuse dijour (dijour means friendship!) for everything short of the war in Iraq and world hunger but I’m sure if we really looked at it we could figure out how it impacted that as well. Apparently nobody wants to rush the show and seeing as how most of the guys material has now made it onto the show they are going to need to write alot of new songs for the next season. Jokes are one thing, heck even I come up with a funny line now and then but funny songs? Well I guess I’m glad they aren’t willing to sacrifice quality.

IRON MAN

Man oh man are they nailing the trailers for this movie or what?  Short of Gwenyth Paltrow’s unenthusiastic performance I haven’t been this excited to see a movie in quite some time.

Scrubs Moving to ABC?!?! WHAT THE?!?!

The saga that is the ending of Scrubs has now taken another turn for the strange when the once never going to air, then go to DVD, then for sure going to air this summer on NBC is now being discussed as moving to ABC to finish out not just with the finale but with another season of 18 episodes (from 6 to 18 what the crap do we have left to do in dragging this show out?).

On a side note, part of me hopes that if the move happens that as the biggest inside gag of all time that they pull in Lecy Goranson to fill the role of Dr. Reid for a few episodes and not mention it at all.  As Dr. Reid would say FRICK ON A STICK!!!
