UNC-Georgetown Postgame Quotes

The Heels did struggle at odd times this year which gave me the impression that they would not win it all but as a fan I still wanted them to.  That was a disappointing loss yesterday, the Heels could very easily be in the final four but alas, they are not.

If everyone (minus the seniors) come back next year, we should be the team to beat and this time, I would expect them to go all the way.

Thanks for the good year!  GO HEELS!

Return of the Red: Sixers Unveil New Second Road Uniforms

phi_redalt0607.jpgThe 76ers have unveiled a new road uni which recognizes the great unis of the past by making the predominant color red.  I think this is a good move for the franchise as they should consider going back to this color scheme full time in my opinion.

Chargers update their look for 07-08

sd_0708.jpgThe webmaster for the Chargers posted a header that showed their new look earlier than planned and so they have decided to make the announcement now.  The most dramatic change is that they will be using a white helmet full time next year.  They will be having a fashion show next Wednesday to officially unveil the new set but here is a sneak peek.  I personally think they are a little too busy and they would have been better off switching between the set from last year and their powder blue retro unis.  Oh well, I don’t care if my rivals look silly.

Rhodes leaves Colts to sign with Raiders

I’m pretty excited with this new addition to the Raider family.  Out of the two Colt running backs, Rhodes was the back who was running harder in the playoffs and of course the Super Bowl.  Now if the Raiders O-line can get it together, the running game looks to be addressed.  I am curious what this means for the future of Fargas.

Welcome Home…

pshome_header.jpgSony announced this week during the GDC that they would be bringing to PS3 owners around the world a new free “game” that is essentially a virtual world. What you are looking at above is that world. Dubbed “Home”, each PS3 owner will now get a chance to be represented in this virtual world with thier own customizable avatar. Other features of the world will include mini games (for example bowling) or the ability to connect with other users and launch directly into PS3 games (ie find your buddy and challenge him to a game of madden). Its an interesting idea to say the least and I’m all for pretty free things. I guess you could think of this as a cross between the Sims, Second Life and your souped up PS3. I’m sure the reality is that this is Sony’s shot back at the wildley successfull Mii campaign for Nintendo. Wonder if the Big N will do something similar in retaliation…

Super Mario Galaxy

super-mario-galaxy-_246225m.jpgSo for those of you who don’t live and breathe video games a little something called the GDC (game developers conference) is going on right now and lately there seems to be a push to turn this more into an e3-ish event from the developer standpoint as more and more developers are begining to make major announcements at the conference. One such interesting piece of info was released yesterday at master Miyamoto’s press conference where a new trailer for the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy was released. After watching it I have to say I’m a little confused and concerned but Nintendo rarely lets us down when it comes to the pouncing plumber.

Nike unveils fitted uniforms for schools

Are you ready for the future?  Nike feels the basketball uniform needs a change and I’m not just talking about adding stripes, I’m talking about a style change.  Today, Syracuse debuted the new “fitted uniforms” released by Nike.  In short, the tops are tighter and the shorts are longer.  There are also a few different ways to modify the uni in case you would like to modify the look with an undershirt (longsleeve or shortsleeve).  Other ‘Elite’ Nike schools will also be moving to this style before too long which means watch out Heels.

Office Notes

I love the television show The Office on NBC.  The humor in the Office can be enjoyed over and over again.  That is why I am unveiling “Office Notes”.  In these posts I will be posting some of my favorite lines from the show and in turn, uplift the lives of many of you.  Without further ado, here are some of the best from episode 1 – the pilot…

Michael: Jim, now is the time to stop putting Dwight’s personal effects into jello.

Jim: Ok. Dwight I’m sorry, because I’ve always been your biggest flan.
Michael: [laughing to Ryan the temp] Ooooh nice! That’s the way it is around here, just kinda goes ’round and ’round and ’round.
Ryan: You should’ve put him in custardy.
Michael: Hey yes!!! New guy! He scores!!!
Dwight: Ok that’s great. I guess what I’m most concerned with is damage to company property. That’s all.
Michael: Pudding…pudding…I’m trying to think, what other dessert to do?

On not telling his employees about impending downsizing

Michael: Am I going to tell them? No, I’m not going to tell them. I don’t see the point of that. As a doctor you would not tell a patient if they had cancer.

Quote –

Michael: [on the phone] Alright then, done deal! [mock English accent] Thank you very much sir! You’re a gentleman and a scholar. Oh…I’m sorry. Ok, I’m sorry. My mistake. [to the camera] That was a woman I was talking to…very low voice, probably a smoker.
