SUPER COLTS

A big dose of congratulations finally goes out to the Colts as they get the monkey off their backs and finally win the Super Bowl thus cementing thier status as one of the great teams of the past decade.  And boy was it an ugly game.  I was worried from the second I turned on the pre-game show and saw the rain.  Surely the grind it out Bears would have the advantage on a rain soaked field.  And after the first five minutes of play I thought that would be the case following the opening kickoff return and Peyton’s pick on the ensuing drive.

But the Colts played through adversity once again and came out on top.  Of course the MVP of the game probably shouldn’t have been Manning, it probably should have been Grossman as his grand display of ineptitude handed the game to the Colts.  If they could have converted on a few more of those turnovers this would have been a blowout in the first half.

The bottom line however is that they did what they had to do to win.  The defense stepped up big time, Rhodes and Addai controlled the ball and imposed their will on the Bears D and Peyton came though when he needed to.
