Apparently EA and Doritos have teamed up to allow the fans to decide who should be the cover athlete of Madden 11 this fall. Click on the link below and you can vote for Jared Allen, Drew Brees or Reggie Wayne. Personally, I’ve never been a fan of defensive players on my Madden cover and I’m not sure Reggie Wayne deserves it over Brees who has had a great year. Then again, I’m not sure I want the curse to be on Brees seeing as how I won’t Fantasy Football with him heading up my squad this season. Decisions, decisions…

For the 4th time your MVP ladies and gentlemen…is Peyton Manning.

It was hard not to use the “MVPeyton” headline again but by now even the slowest among us has thought up that witty title (I think I used it when he won back in 2008).  All kidding aside the 4th MVP is something special.  Peyton has now won more MVP awards then anyone else in NFL history.  So where do you put him now along side the alltime great QB’s in the NFL?  If (ahem “when” the Seven good sportsfan year is still in effect until the Colts loose) he wins another SuperBowl this year and has a few more good years in him he has to be considered one of the top two or three QB’s ever right?

Grats Peyton, and I’m not just saying that cause I got a man crush on you or anything…

Okay screw it yes I am crying.

The sad news we were all likely expecting to hear has finally been announced.  Over on the Flight of the Conchords official website the news was announced that there will be no season 3 of the hit HBO show.  I understand why they aren’t doing it, the creative well runneth dry at times and I’m sure its not an easy show to make.  That doesn’t make the news any less sad for the fans though.

Here is hoping the guys take a well deserved break, recharge those batteries and in a year or two decide to put the band back together and at least grace the world with another album of fresh material, more comedy specials or something.

Or does it?  If your like me, you managed to find yourself  entertained by last years mega-hit “The Dark Knight” but you couldn’t help notice all the plot points that you could drive cement trucks through.  Now I’m the first to admit that movies are escapism and yes we need to check reality at the door for 98% of the movies out there, however I refuse to sit in line with all the other fanbois and claim that this was the greatest movie of all time.  I think this video spells it out for us perfectly (and it rhymes!)

So lets enjoy the movie for what it is, thoroughly entertaining popcorn action movie of the highest degree, no more, no less…
