Oklahoma City Blunder
Did you know the NBA is letting an NBDL team play up this year? At least that is what the identity package of the Oklahoma City Thunder appears to portray. I don’t want to spend a lot of time on this because it doesn’t deserve it. The images speak for themselves.

Uni-forum: Timberwolves clean it up
This has been out for a while but the Minnesota Timberwolves cleaned up their logo as well as introduced new unis as part of celebrating 20 years. The design is a collaboration between Addidas and the Wovles. The changes to the logo are subtle but overall I think they did a great job. The wordmark is less ”fangy” and changed the letters from blue to white and the trees have been leveled out. They removed most of the trees from the collar which is a good move but they put them on the jersey and shorts. Those insertions are supposed to create a “W” on the jersey and an “M” on the shorts. This is the third uniform design over the history of the franchise and probably the best yet. Overall I give it a B.

UNC - Slightly new look
The Heels recently held a senior photo shoot where the newish unis were unveiled. I say new but really the concept is still the same. They only modified two things. First, they got rid of the “tight-fit” top. Second, they chose a v-neck rather than the crew cut, tight-neck look from last year. Apparently Roy Williams was instrumental in persuading Nike to bring back the v-neck. I didn’t think it was that big a deal. The Heels will still have the best uni in all of sports and their play this year will make it look even better. Go HEELS!

DSi…Dual Screen investigators?

Well its official, Nintendo has revealed the brand spanking new DSi handheld. Here is a quick summary of the new specs:
- Two built in cameras
- 12% thinner then the DS Lite (comes at the cost of the GBA slot, no more old schoolin)
- Music Playback
- Internal Storage (no word on how much)
- SD Card slot for additional storage
- Slightly larger screens (3.25 inches)
- Photo Synching with the Wii photo channel
- Free web browsing via Wi Fi
- DSi Shop (buy games and applications directly over Wi Fi
Nintendo is calling the DSi a “third platform” but really its so similar to a DS I’m not sure who they are trying to fool with that. It will launch November 1 in Japan in black and white colors (I chose the black for the pic above because it showed up better then the white) and will retail for approximately $178 US. No word on the US release other then sometime 2009.

No commentsWiiiiiii - Its a Lightsaber

Depending on your state of mind this is either the stupidest in a long line of stupid plastic attachments for your wavering wii-mote ooooorrrr if you let your inner geek out this could just be the coolest thing ever! It would probably be a whole lot better if the Star Wars games for the Wii actually felt like you were participating in Lightsaber battles.
I think Joystiq puts it best though, “You pay $35, you put one on your wii-mote and your pretender works better!”

No commentsThe most akward thing in the world…
Alright so I want you all to close your eyes for a moment while I describe a new tech device to you…oh wait if you close your eyes you won’t be able to read this…hmm didn’t think about that. Okay don’t close your eyes but pretend you are closing your eyes.

Now I want everyone out there who is into any sort of texting, blackberrying, thumb typing to think about the devices that you do this kind of activity on. What do they all have in common? well you hold the device and type using your thumbs. Most devices of this sort, or all that I can think of would have the keyboard placed below the screen because thats where your thumbs would be positioned. Most would assume based on the fact that we are all human beings and we all have our thumbs in the same place that this would be pretty standard right?

Well WRONG!!! Sony knows better then you so without further ado I give you the most akward thing in the world!!!

I don’t know how you hold your PS3 controller, but I have no clue how my thumbs are getting all the way up there to type. Seriously who was this designed for an alien gorilla?!?!

For all you FOTC fans, I give you… Ronald Chevalier But before you click I must warn you, this is a little strange.
I’m really in the game!
I know this technology has been kickin around for a while but this is the best implementation that I have seen thus far. The upcoming EA title, Facebreaker, gives you the option through EASportsWorld.com to upload a photo of yourself and then download it to your PS3 to create your own boxer! You can then make changes to the hair, body, clothes, etc. I do have to warn you that it does take a while but it is worth it. I hope other EA titles adopt this very soon.
So go out and download the demo on the PS Network and link up your EA profile with your EASportsWorld profile and have some fun.
